How to become a Notary Public & Loan Signing Agent in Florida, August 9, 2022 #loansigningagent

Become a Florida Notary and Signing Agent Basic requirements; 18- years of age Legal resident of Florida Have civil rights restored if ever convicted of a felony Pass a 3-hour mandatory state training course (public or private) approved by the Office of the Governor or access the state course at Exam not required 1. Contact your bonding company (a/k/a Notary Processor) 2. Complete the application 3. Purchase the required Surety Bond (fee is separate from app and filing fee) 4. Obtain an ‘Affidavit of Character’ signed by a person who is unrelated to you and has known you for at least one year. 5. Submit a signed certification of completion of the state required Notary course 6. Pay app fee of $25 – Commission fee $10 - Education surcharge $4 Total fee $39 7. All items to be presented to the bonding company who will submit the packet to Dept of State If accepted, you will receive your commission certificate and notary seal from your bonding agency. Your commission term is for 4-years While you are waiting for your commission;  Read your state notary handbook cover to cover  Purchase a journal If you are wanting to become a Loan Signing Agent;  Purchase Errors & Omission insurance  Take the NNA Signing Agent Exam  Pass the Background Check through the NationalNotaryAssociation.com  Set-up your office.
