I'm confused on what the point of forging a deed is. Even if it was forged, there still has to be an owner somewhere that can dispute who the true owner is because of the state's database of titles and deeds and they would also have an authentic deed compared to forgery deed. Unless the forger is targeting abandoned houses, which is actually kind of brilliant. I doubt the state would dispute if someone showed up with a deed to an abandoned house, they would just look like the long lost owner that is finally claiming the house.
